Mayor Cosena Mario Occhiuto of the Calabrian town of Cosenza announced that Municipality of Cosenza is about to start excavation works to dig for treasure of Visigoth King Alaric worth staggering 2 billion dollars which makes Nazi gold treasure in Poland “pale and insignificant” by comparison.

Mayor Cosena Mario Occhiuto of the Calabrian town of Cosenza announced that Municipality of Cosenza

Mayor Cosena Mario Occhiuto of the Calabrian town of Cosenza announced that-

King of Visigoths Alaric who in 410 AD invaded Roman Empire and sacked Rome amassed a treasure of gold, silver and precious stones beyond any imagination.

This included relics from Holy Land which had been stolen by Romans during their conquest of Jerusalem.

Alaric died in Cosenza. Thousands of slaves were used to divert water from local river so they could dig a tomb large enough for Alaric, his horse and all his treasures. Once the tomb was completed the river was returned to its original site and Alaric’s tomb was covered with water. To ensure that no one would reveal location of Alaric’s grave all slaves were killed. For many centuries hordes of treasure hunters have come to Cozenza including a group of Nazi goldiggers sent there by Head of S.S. Heinrich Himmler who was obsessed by King Alaric myth. Until now nothing has been found.

Most likely this announcement is a clumsy attempt by Mayor Occhiuto to draw more tourists into the area.

But who knows? Maybe there is King Alaric treasure in Cozenza?,
