New York City Council Member and Transportation Chair Ydanis Rodriguez announced new initiative for the Earth Day

New York City Council Member and Transportation Chair Ydanis Rodriguez announced at NYU this morning Wednesday, April 20, 2016 the launch of the first annual Car Free NYC, which will take place this Friday, April 22, 2016  with the goal of encouraging New Yorkers to leave their cars at home and take public transportation, ride a bike, or walk instead.

“Single occupancy car usage is one of the least efficient ways of getting around,” said Mr. Rodriguez, who was joined by fellow public officials and transportation advocates. “Here in New York, it is a contributor to traffic, harmful emissions, deaths and injuries.” We got the point. Just one question how a single occupancy car could particularly increase “deaths and injuries?”

“We have a responsibility to our environment, to our residents and to ourselves to have a frank conversation about the inefficiencies of car use,” he said.

Right you are Mr. Rodriguez.  Yes! Let’s go back horse drone vehicles and foot walk. Back to nature. And, by the way, let’s get read of extensive city officials.

Almost forgot. What is going to happened to the cars of the rest of our New York City? Be sure. Business as usual, nothing. Relax!
