Leonid Kulikovsky, 72, direct descendant of Russian Emperor Alexander III died in a small town in Australia

but his body was kept in local morgue for two months because no-one contacted the authorities. Later police found his relatives in Denmark.

Mr. Kulikovsky – nicknamed ‘Old Nick’ in Australian small town where he lived for many years, possibly because he was closely related to last Tsar of Russia Nicholas II. He was also distant relative of UK Queen Elisabeth and Prince Philip. His father Guriy was a son of Grand Princess Olga Romanov, youngest daughter of Emperor Alexander III. 

In 1967, Mr.Kulikovsky moved to Sydney to work in water management and few years later after taking retirementmoved to city of Katherine.  

Semen Andropov, a member of the Union of Russian Compatriots, said:
-Mr. Kulikovsky  died of a heart attack on September 27 while walking his dog in park (city of Katherine, Northern Territory of Australia).  His body was identified by the Head of Russia’s Orthodox Church in Australia. Mr. Kulikovsky’s funeral service will be held on November 29 in Serbian Orthodox Church by request of his sister, who lives in Denmark.
