In preparation to release for the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) which is due this Friday, Sept., “Spiegel”27 ordered a survey.

Climate policy needs the element of fear

Climate policy needs the element of fear

While in 2006 a sizable majority of 62 percent expressed a fear of global warning, that number has now become a minority of just 39 percent – according to a survey conducted on behalf of “Spiegel”, Germany. The average global temperature hasn’t risen in 15 years.

And that bring major question: How will the IPCC address the pause in global warming? And how reliable are the computer models on which the predictions are based, if they failed to foresee the current temperature plateau? Climate models have failed in their predictive powers to explain the current trend in global temperatures.

“Climate policy needs the element of fear,” German Green Party politician Hermann Ott openly admits. “Otherwise, no politician would take on this topic.”

The part of this whole global warming circus that upsets the most is the way it has distracted people from the real issues of clean air and water.

Anyway we all know how accurate day-to-day weather forecast is. Let’s not put too much pressure Panel on Climate Change.

As for Germans they are people too and anyone can manipulate public opinions.
