Recently Cory Jones, top editor of Playboy Magazine, went to see its founder Hugh Hefner with proposition to stop publishing images of naked women.

Mr. Hefner agreed.

So it is very possible that in new editions of Playboy Magazine will be no more  photos of nude women.

For many years reading Playboy Magazine was a thrill of men’s vices ignited by semi-pornographic female nudity.  Those times are gone.  Nowadays every  teenage boy has an Internet-connected phone instead. Pornographic magazines, even those as storied as Playboy, have lost their sexual thrills value.

In recent years Playboy’s circulation has dropped from 5.6 million in 1975 to about 800,000 in 2015. Many of other men-magazines of this kind have disappeared completely. Penthouse Magazine, the most famous Playboy competitor, responded to the threat from digital pornography by turning even more explicit. It never recovered.

Previous efforts to re-vitalized Playboy, as recently as three years ago, have never quite stuck. But even now Playboy’s logo is still one of the most recognizable in the world, along with Apple and Nike.
