Mexican law-authorities are looking for Kate del Castillo, movie actress, who arranged Rolling Stone Magazine interview with Sinaloa drug cartel’s capo Joaquin Guzman “El Chapo” conducted by Sean Penn.

Mexican law-authorities are looking for Kate del Castillo

Mexican government official, who was not authorized to discuss the case publicly and spoke on condition of anonymity, confirmed that investigators of El Chapo’s case have formally invited del Castillo to meet with them about the encounter she and Penn had with notorious drug lord.

Sean Penn’s article about “El Chapo” was published by Rolling Stone few days after “El Chapo” was arrested.

Eduardo Sanchez, Mexican law-authority’s spokesman said last week that the government would investigate whether a crime was committed during the meeting between the drug lord and del Castillo but so far there was no criminal probe on her or Sean Penn.

Eduardo Sanchez repeatedly said that Ms. del Castillo is considered a witness and is not accused of any criminal offence.

However, he criticized her actions saying that it is not quite right that someone with information about a wanted fugitive would not share it with law-authorities.

Del Castillo responded to criticism:

-Not surprisingly, many have chosen to make up items they think will make good stories and that aren’t truthful. I look forward to meet our country’s law-authorities to share my information about Mr. Guzman.
