New York City Major TRAFFIC Interruptions

BROOKLYN-MANHATTAN

One tube HUGH L. CAREY (FORMERLY BROOKLYN BATTERY) TUNNEL WILL BE CLOSED. 

Monday to Friday between 9:30 pm

from 8 pm Friday to 5:30 am Monday

CLOSURES MEANS LIKELY CONGESTION AND INTERRUPTION THE NORMAL FLOW OF TRAFFIC IN THE AREA IN MANHATTAN AND BROOKLYN. One tube HUGH L. CAREY (FORMERLY BROOKLYN BATTERY) TUNNEL is closed to facilitate tunnel repairs through 2018

 

QUEENS – MANHATTAN

 THE MANHATTAN-BOUND (NORTH) TUBE OF THE QUEENS MIDTOWN TUNNEL will be closed

from 9 pm Friday to 5:30 am Monday

THE QUEENS-BOUND (SOUTH) TUBE OF THE QUEENS MIDTOWN TUNNEL will be closed

from 9 pm Friday to 5:30 am Monday

TUBES OF THE QUEENS MIDTOWN TUNNEL will be closed for ongoing Superstorm Sandy restoration work

One lane in each direction will always remain open in the other tube when one tube is closed.

BROOKLYN

BROOKLYN-QUEENS EXPRESSWAY UNDER SACKETT STREET BRIDGE WILL BE  PARTIALLY CLOSED

 ONE OF THREE LANES in each direction will be closed

  • from 12:01 am to 5 am Fridayf
  • rom 12:01 am to 6 am Saturday
  • from 12:01 am to 9 am Sunday.

TWO OF THREE LANES in each direction will be closed

  • from 1 am to 5 am Friday
  • from 1 am to 6 am Saturday
  • from 2 am to 7 am Sunday.

THESE CLOSURES ARE NECESSARY THROUGH AUGUST 2018 TO FACILITATE NYCDOT BRIDGES SACKETT STREET BRIDGE REHABILITATION WORK.

CLOSURES MEANS LIKELY CONGESTION AND INTERRUPTION THE NORMAL FLOW OF TRAFFIC IN THE AREA IN BROOKLYN

QUEENS

VAN WYCK EXPRESSWAY BETWEEN NORTHERN BOULEVARD AND LONG ISLAND EXPRESSWAY WILL BE  PARTIALLY CLOSED

ONE OF THREE LANES WILL BE CLOSED

  • from 9 pm Friday night to 6 am Saturday morning through January 27, 2018 to facilitate NYCDOT Bridge shielding maintenance.
  • NTERMITTENT (15-MINUTE) FULL ROADWAY CLOSURES MAY OCCUR FROM 2 AM TO 5 AM.

NORTHBOUND FDR DRIVE EXIT 1 TO SOUTH STREET THE EXIT RAMP WILL BE FULLY CLOSED  (NOTE: ENTRANCE TO FDR REMAINS OPEN)

Monday nights to Friday mornings from 9 pm to 5:30 am and on Saturday and Sunday from 12:01 am to 5 am through May 31, 2018

NORTHBOUND FDR DRIVE EXIT 1 TO SOUTH STREET THE EXIT RAMP WILL BE FULLY CLOSED to facilitate viaduct painting.
CLOSURES MEANS LIKELY CONGESTION AND INTERRUPTION THE NORMAL FLOW OF TRAFFIC IN THE AREA IN MANHATTAN

TO FACILITATE CRANE OPERATION FOLLOWING MANHATTAN STREETS ARE GOING TO BE CLOSED. CLOSURES MEANS LIKELY CONGESTION AND INTERRUPTION THE NORMAL FLOW OF TRAFFIC IN THE MANHATTAN AREA. This street will be closed

  • East 19th Street between 2nd Avenue and 3rd Avenue>>from 9 am to 6 pm Saturday and Sunday
  • West 29th Street between 11th Avenue and Highline>>from 6 am to 2 pm Saturday and Sunday from 7 am to 2 pm
  • West 37th Street between 5th Avenue and 6th Avenue>>from 12:01 am to 11 am Saturday and Sunday
  • East 40th Street between 3rd Avenue and 2nd Avenue>>11 pm Friday through 8 pm Sunday
  • West 44th Street between 5th Avenue and 6th Avenue>>from 1 am to 11 am Saturday and Sunday
  • East 53rd Street between Lexington Avenue and 3rd Avenue>>Saturday from 8 am to 6 pm and Sunday from 9 am to 6 pm
  • West 58th Street between 10th Avenue and 9th Avenue>>from 6 am to 8 pm Saturday and Sunday
  • Duane Street between Trimble Place and Broadway>>from 12:01 am to 7 pm Saturday
  • Crosby Street between Broome Street and Spring Street>>Saturday from 8 am to 6 pm and Sunday from 9 am to 6 pm
  • Wooster Street between Prince Street and West Houston Street>>Saturday from 8 am to 6 pm and Sunday from 9 am to 6 pm
  • Mott Street between Prince Street and East Houston Street>>Saturday from 8 am to 6 pm and Sunday from 9 am to 6 pm
