BROOKLYN BRIDGE full closure for traffic proceeding Manhattan bound/westbound

Monday – Thursday nights: 11 pm* to 6 am

Due to facilitation rehabilitation and repainting work

* To allow traffic to clear before the reversal begins, the eastbound BQE exit onto the bridge closes 30 minutes earlier, the northbound FDR Drive exits close up to an hour earlier, and other Brooklyn ramps onto the bridge shut down 5-15 minutes earlier.

There will be a continuous 54 hour closure of the inbound roadway of the Brooklyn Bridge and the Westbound/Southbound BQE exit ramp to Cadman Plaza West on April 5-7 from 12:01 am Saturday to 6 am Monday. BQE exit ramp traffic will be diverted to the Atlantic Avenue exit onto Furman Street. Brooklyn Bridge traffic proceeding inbound to Manhattan should use the Hugh L. Carey Tunnel (pay toll) or the Manhattan/Williamsburg Bridges as alternates.

Drivers proceeding inbound/northbound from south Brooklyn via the Belt Parkway and Gowanus Expressway should use 3rd Avenue/Hamilton Avenue into the toll facility Hugh L. Carey (formerly Brooklyn Battery) Tunnel as the best route into lower Manhattan.

Drivers proceeding inbound/westbound from Queens/Long Island should consider the Williamsburg Bridge, or the toll facilities at the Robert F Kennedy Bridge or Queens Midtown Tunnel, for best route into Manhattan.
