NYC TRAFFIC ADVISORY:  FRIDAY APRIL 19, 2013 TO SUNDAY APRIL 21, 2013

 

FOLLOWING QUEENS MIDTOWN TUNNEL CLOSURES MEANS LIKELY CONGESTION AND INTERRUPTION THE NORMAL FLOW OF TRAFFIC IN THE AREA:

Where When What
One tube  of QUEENS MIDTOWN TUNNEL from 2 a.m. on Saturday through 5 a.m. Two-way traffic is in effect in the remaining tube. Trucks are not allowed while two-way traffic is in effect

 

ALEXANDER HAMILTON BRIDGE

Starting from December 8, 2012, construction work will begin on the Alexander Hamilton Bridge (I-95 Cross Bronx Expressway) and that will impact traffic on the Westbound (New Jersey-bound) lanes of the bridge and surrounding roadways for approximately for the next 6 months. A new traffic pattern is in place on the Cross Bronx Expressway southbound approaching the Major Deegan Expressway. As a result, two lanes to the left of the workzone and one lane to the right of the workzone will be open to traffic. Drivers will have access to both levels of the George Washington Bridge.

 

BROOKLYN BRIDGE. MANHATTAN/BROOKLYN

Where When Why
One of three lanes may be closed in eastbound direction to Brooklyn 6 am to 3 pm weekdays Due to facilitation rehabilitation and repainting work
Single lane closures will occur, as needed on the local streets under the bridge through 2013 Off peak hour on weekdays Due to facilitation rehabilitation and repainting work

The northbound FDR exit to the Brooklyn Bridge. Use the prior South Street exit starting 1 hour before closure hours noted below. Due to facilitation rehabilitation and repainting work
The Brooklyn Queens Expressway eastbound exit to the Brooklyn Bridge starting as early as 30 minutes before closure Due to facilitation rehabilitation and repainting work
Manhattan bound/westbound Monday night through Friday morning between 11 pm and 6 am, 12:01 am to 7 am Saturday Due to facilitation rehabilitation and repainting work
All work will occur overnight during off peak hours, when Manhattan-bound drivers will be detoured to the nearby Manhattan Bridge As posted Due to facilitation rehabilitation and repainting work

 

GRAND STREET BRIDGE OVER NEWTOWN CREEK. BROOKLYN/QUEENS
