MANHATTAN- BROOKLYN

BROOKLYN BRIDGE – INBOUND. MANHATTAN/BROOKLYN CLOSURES MEANS LIKELY CONGESTION AND INTERRUPTION THE NORMAL FLOW OF TRAFFIC IN THE AREA IN MANHATTAN AND BROOKLYN

Why

BROOKLYN BRIDGE full closure for traffic proceeding Manhattan bound/westbound

Monday night through Friday morning between 11 pm and 6 am

Due to facilitation rehabilitation and repainting work

BROOKLYN BRIDGE full closure for traffic proceeding Manhattan bound/westbound

12:01 am to 7am Saturday

Due to facilitation rehabilitation and repainting work

Brooklyn-bound traffic will access the Brooklyn Bridge from Pearl Street or Centre Street, using a contraflow configuration

One of three eastbound lanes will be closed 6 am to 2 pm Saturday

Due to facilitation rehabilitation and repainting work

Drivers proceeding inbound/northbound from south Brooklyn via the Belt Parkway and Gowanus Expressway should use 3rd Avenue/Hamilton Avenue into the toll facility Hugh L. Carey (formerly Brooklyn Battery) Tunnel as the best route into lower Manhattan.

Drivers proceeding inbound/westbound from Queens/Long Island should consider the Williamsburg Bridge, or the toll facilities at the Robert F Kennedy Bridge or Queens Midtown Tunnel, for best route into Manhattan.

Throughout this closure the Manhattan Bridge will accommodate 5 lanes of traffic inbound/westbound and two lanes outbound/eastbound.

MANHATTAN

FDR Southbound Service Road between East 30th Street and East 34th Street

6 am to 9 pm Saturday and/or Sunday

To facilitate crane operation. There is no impact on FDR Drive entrance.

One of four Brooklyn-bound lanes on the Williamsburg Bridge will be closed on Saturday from 6 am to 2 pm to facilitate bridge maintenance.

MANHATTAN/ BRONX

WILLIS AVENUE BRIDGE CLOSURES MEANS LIKELY CONGESTION AND INTERRUPTION THE NORMAL FLOW OF TRAFFIC IN THE AREA IN THE BRONX

The Willis Avenue Bridge will be closed to all traffic

on Saturday from 2 am to 6 am

Tor bridge testing

Drivers will be detoured to the Madison Avenue Bridge at East 138th Street. Pedestrians and bicyclists may use the Third Avenue Bridge.

 

BROOKLYN

9TH STREET BRIDGE OVER GOWANUS CANAL – CLOSURES MEANS LIKELY CONGESTION AND INTERRUPTION THE NORMAL FLOW OF TRAFFIC IN THE AREA IN BROOKLYN

To perform maintenance and structural repairs.

Drivers will be detoured to to the Metropolitan Avenue Bridge.
