NYC TRAFFIC ADVISORY:  FRIDAY MARCH 15, 2013 TO SUNDAY MARCH 17, 2013

The New York City Department of Transportation announces street closures and expected traffic delays for Manhattan. Drivers should expect delays on December 28, 2012 to Sunday December 30, 2012 .

 

ALEXANDER HAMILTON BRIDGE (MANHATTAN – BRONX) – CONSTRUCTION WORK ON THE BRIDGE

Starting from December 8, 2012, construction work will begin on the Alexander Hamilton Bridge (I-95 Cross Bronx Expressway) and that will impact traffic on the Westbound (New Jersey-bound) lanes of the bridge and surrounding roadways for approximately for the next 6 months. A new traffic pattern is in place on the Cross Bronx Expressway southbound approaching the Major Deegan Expressway. As a result, two lanes to the left of the workzone and one lane to the right of the workzone will be open to traffic. Drivers will have access to both levels of the George Washington Bridge.

 

QUEENS/MANHATTAN – QUEENSBORO/ED KOCH BRIDGE

Where When Why
The south outer roadway eastbound to Queens Saturday and Sunday from 2 am until 2 pm Facilitate MTA overhead track structure work through early April 2013

During this time motorists should use the lower level of the Queensboro Bridge at 2nd Avenue and East 59th Street or enter the upper level (passenger cars) from East 57th Street or East 58th Street between 1st and 2nd Avenue in Manhattan.
