NEW YORK CITY TRAFFIC ADVISORY:  FRIDAY JANUARY 24, 2014 TO SUNDAY JANUARY 26, 2014

 MANHATTAN- BROOKLYN

BROOKLYN BRIDGE – INBOUND. MANHATTAN/BROOKLYN CLOSURES MEANS LIKELY CONGESTION AND INTERRUPTION THE NORMAL FLOW OF TRAFFIC IN THE AREA IN MANHATTAN AND BROOKLYN

BROOKLYN BRIDGE full closure for traffic proceeding Manhattan bound/westbound

From midnight Friday to 7 am Saturday

Due to facilitation rehabilitation and repainting work

BROOKLYN BRIDGE full closure for traffic proceeding Manhattan bound/westbound

From midnight Saturday to 9 am Sunday

Due to facilitation rehabilitation and repainting work

Brooklyn-bound traffic will access the Brooklyn Bridge from Pearl Street or Centre Street, using a contraflow configuration

From midnight Sunday to 6 am Monday.

Due to facilitation rehabilitation and repainting work

* To allow traffic to clear before the reversal begins, the eastbound BQE exit onto the bridge closes 30 minutes earlier, the northbound FDR Drive exits close up to an hour earlier, and other Brooklyn ramps onto the bridge shut down 5-15 minutes earlier.

Drivers proceeding inbound/northbound from south Brooklyn via the Belt Parkway and Gowanus Expressway should use 3rd Avenue/Hamilton Avenue into the toll facility Hugh L. Carey (formerly Brooklyn Battery) Tunnel as the best route into lower Manhattan.

Drivers proceeding inbound/westbound from Queens/Long Island should consider the Williamsburg Bridge, or the toll facilities at the Robert F Kennedy Bridge or Queens Midtown Tunnel, for best route into Manhattan.

Throughout this closure the Manhattan Bridge will accommodate 5 lanes of traffic inbound/westbound and two lanes outbound/eastbound.

QUEENS/BROOKLYN

METROPOLITAN AVENUE BRIDGE OVER NEWTOWN CREEK CLOSURES MEANS LIKELY CONGESTION AND INTERRUPTION THE NORMAL FLOW OF TRAFFIC IN THE AREA IN QUEENS/BROOKLYN

Metropolitan Avenue Bridge over Newtown Creek. One lane in each direction will be closed

Sunday January 26 from 7 am to 2 pm

West 21st Street between 6th Avenue and 5th Avenue

East 26th Street between 2nd Avenue and Mt. Carmel Place. One lane of traffic from southbound Mt. Carmel Place to westbound East 26th Street for access to 2nd Avenue will be maintained

6 am Saturday to 9 pm Sunday

To facilitate crane operation.

East 26th Street between Mt. Carmel Place and 1st Avenue

from 6 am Saturday to 9 pm Sunday

To facilitate crane operation.

East 75th Street between 5th Avenue and Madison Avenue

Saturday and/or Sunday from 8 am to 4 pm

To facilitate crane operation.

East 91st Street between 1st Avenue and York Avenue

Saturday and/or Sunday from 8 am to 4 pm

To facilitate crane operation.

West 105th Street between Amsterdam Avenue and Columbus Avenue

Saturday from 8 am to 5 pm

To facilitate crane operation.

West 171st Street between Haven Avenue and Fort Washington Avenue

6 am Saturday to 9 pm Sunday

To facilitate crane operation.

Haven Avenue between West 170th Street and West 172nd t Street

6 am Saturday to 9 pm Sunday

To facilitate crane operation.

Fort Washington Avenue between West 178th Street and West 179th Street

11 pm Saturday to 5 am Sunday

To facilitate crane operation.
