NEW YORK CITY TRAFFIC ADVISORY:  FRIDAY JUNE 14, 2013 TO MONDAY JUNE 17, 2013 

 

BROOKLYN BRIDGE – INBOUND. MANHATTAN/BROOKLYN CLOSURES MEANS LIKELY CONGESTION AND INTERRUPTION THE NORMAL FLOW OF TRAFFIC IN THE AREA IN MANHATTAN AND BROOKLYN

Where When Why
BROOKLYN BRIDGE full closure for traffic proceeding Manhattan bound/westbound Monday night through Friday morning between 11 pm and 6 am, and 12:01 am to 7 am Saturday Due to facilitation rehabilitation and repainting work
The Chambers Street/Centre Street entrance to the bridge eastbound to Brooklyn Will be closed 7 am to midnight Saturday and 9 am to midnight Sunday, June 15-16th, 2013. Due to facilitation rehabilitation and repainting work
Inbound Park Row South exit Will be closed 12:01 am to 9 am Sunday and 11 pm Sunday to 6 am Monday June 16-17, 2013. Due to facilitation rehabilitation and repainting work
The northbound FDR exit to the Brooklyn Bridge is closed starting 1 hour before closure hours noted. Starting 1 hour before closure hours Due to facilitation rehabilitation and repainting work

Drivers proceeding inbound/northbound from south Brooklyn via the Belt Parkway and Gowanus Expressway should use 3rd Avenue/Hamilton Avenue into the toll facility Hugh L. Carey (formerly Brooklyn Battery) Tunnel as the best route into lower Manhattan.

Drivers proceeding inbound/westbound from Queens/Long Island should consider the Williamsburg Bridge, or the toll facilities at the Robert F Kennedy Bridge or Queens Midtown Tunnel, for best route into Manhattan.

Throughout this closure the Manhattan Bridge will accommodate 5 lanes of traffic inbound/westbound and two lanes outbound/eastbound.

West 19th Street between 7th Avenue and 8th Avenue This street will be closed Saturday and/or Sunday from 8 am to 6 pm Due to facilitation crane operation.
West 24th Street between Broadway and Avenue of the Americas This street will be closed 1 am Saturday to 6 am Monday Due to facilitation crane operation.
East 26th Street between 1st Avenue and 2nd Avenue This street will be closed 6 am Saturday to 9 pm Sunday Due to facilitation crane operation.
East 26th Street between 5th Avenue and Madison Avenue This street will be closed Saturday and/or Sunday from 8 am to 6 pm Due to facilitation crane operation.
East 27th Street between Park Avenue South and Lexington Avenue This street will be closed Saturday and/or Sunday from 8 am to 6 pm Due to facilitation crane operation.
East 28th Street between 1st Avenue and Mt. Carmel This street will be closed 6 am Saturday to 9 pm Sunday Due to facilitation crane operation.
West 30th Street between 11th Avenue and 10th Avenue This street will be closed 10 pm Friday through 9 pm Sunday Due to facilitation crane operation.
East 32nd Street between Park Avenue South and Lexington Avenue This street will be closed 6 am Saturday to 9 pm Sunday Due to facilitation crane operation.
West 40th Street between 6th Avenue and 5th Avenue This street will be closed Saturday and/or Sunday from 6 am to 9 pm Due to facilitation crane operation.
West 40th Street between Broadway and 6th Avenue This street will be closed 7 am Saturday to 9 pm Sunday Due to facilitation crane operation.
East 44th Street between Madison Avenue and Vanderbilt Avenue This street will be closed Saturday and/or Sunday from 12:01 am to 8 am Due to facilitation crane operation.
West 45th Street between 6th Avenue and 5th Avenue This street will be closed Saturday and/or Sunday from 8 am to 4 pm Due to facilitation crane operation.
East 50th Street between Madison Avenue and Park Avenue This street will be closed 11 pm Friday to 5 am Monday Due to facilitation crane operation.
West 51st Street between 7th Avenue and 6th Avenue This street will be closed 12:01 am Saturday through 11:59 pm Sunday Due to facilitation crane operation.
East 58th Street between Lexington Avenue and 3rd Avenue This street will be closed Saturday and/or Sunday from 8 am to 6 pm Due to facilitation crane operation.
East 60th Street between Park Avenue and Madison Avenue This street will be closed Saturday and/or Sunday from 8 am to 4 pm Due to facilitation crane operation.
East 71st Street between 5th Avenue and Madison Avenue This street will be closed Saturday and/or Sunday from 8 am to 6 pm Due to facilitation crane operation.
East 76th Street between Lexington Avenue and Park Avenue This street will be closed Saturday and/or Sunday from 8 am to 4 pm Due to facilitation crane operation.
East 91st Street between 5th Avenue and Madison Avenue This street will be closed Saturday and/or Sunday from 8 am to 4 pm Due to facilitation crane operation.
Mt. Carmel Place between East 26th Street and East 28th Street This street will be closed 6 am Saturday to 9 pm Sunday Due to facilitation roadway restoration.
Spring Street between Varick Street and Avenue of the Americas This street will be closed Saturday and/or Sunday from 8 am to 6 pm Due to facilitation crane operation.
Jersey Street between Lafayette Street and Mulberry Street This street will be closed Saturday and/or Sunday from 7 am to 5 pm Due to facilitation crane operation.
Mulberry Street between Prince Street and East Houston Street This street will be closed Saturday and/or Sunday from 7 am to 5 pm Due to facilitation crane operation.
