MANHATTAN

 

BROOKLYN BRIDGE – INBOUND. MANHATTAN/BROOKLYN CLOSURES MEANS LIKELY CONGESTION AND INTERRUPTION THE NORMAL FLOW OF TRAFFIC IN THE AREA IN MANHATTAN AND BROOKLYN

Where When Why
BROOKLYN BRIDGE full closure for traffic proceeding Manhattan bound/westbound Monday night through Friday morning between 11 pm Due to facilitation rehabilitation and repainting work
BROOKLYN BRIDGE full closure for traffic proceeding Manhattan bound/westbound Saturday 12:01 am to 7 am Due to facilitation rehabilitation and repainting work
The northbound FDR exit to the Brooklyn Bridge is closed starting 1 hour before closure hours noted below. starting 1 hour before closure hours Due to facilitation rehabilitation and repainting work
The Brooklyn Queens Expressway eastbound exit to the Brooklyn Bridge is closed 30 minutes before closure hours Due to facilitation rehabilitation and repainting work

Drivers proceeding inbound/northbound from south Brooklyn via the Belt Parkway and Gowanus Expressway should use 3rd Avenue/Hamilton Avenue into the toll facility Hugh L. Carey (formerly Brooklyn Battery) Tunnel as the best route into lower Manhattan.

Drivers proceeding inbound/westbound from Queens/Long Island should consider the Williamsburg Bridge, or the toll facilities at the Robert F Kennedy Bridge or Queens Midtown Tunnel, for best route into Manhattan.

Throughout this closure the Manhattan Bridge will accommodate 5 lanes of traffic inbound/westbound and two lanes outbound/eastbound.

East 11th Street between University Place and Broadway This street will be closed Saturday and/or Sunday from 8 am to 6 pm to facilitate crane operation.
West 12th Street between 7th Avenue and 6th Avenue This street will be closed Saturday and/or Sunday from 8 am to 6 pm to facilitate crane operation.
West 18th Street between 7th Avenue and 8th Avenue This street will be closed Saturday and/or Sunday from 8 am to 6 pm to facilitate crane operation.
East 18th Street between Park Avenue South and Irving Place This street will be closed Saturday and/or Sunday from 8 am to 6 pm to facilitate crane operation.
West 19th Street between 8th Avenue and 7th Avenue This street will be closed Saturday and/or Sunday from 8 am to 6 pm to facilitate crane operation.
West 21st Street between 7th Avenue and 6th Avenue This street will be closed Saturday and/or Sunday from 8 am to 6 pm to facilitate crane operation.

West 31st Street between Dyer Avenue and 9th Avenue This street will be closed 6 am Saturday to 9 pm Sunday to facilitate crane operation.
West 32nd Street between 7th Avenue and 6th Avenue This street will be closed Saturday and/or Sunday from 8 am to 6 pm to facilitate crane operation.
West 33rd Street between 11th Avenue and 10th Avenue This street will be closed Saturday and/or Sunday from 7 am to 4 pm to facilitate crane operation.
West 51st Street between 7th Avenue and 6th Avenue This street will be closed 12:01 am Saturday through 10 pm Sunday to facilitate crane operation.
East 74th Street between 2nd Avenue and 1st Avenue This street will be closed Saturday from 8 am to 4 pm to facilitate crane operation.
East 76th Street between Lexington Avenue and Park Avenue This street will be closed Saturday and/or Sunday from 8 am to 4 pm to facilitate crane operation.
West 126th Street between Old Broadway and Amsterdam Avenue This street will be closed Saturday from 8 am to 5 pm to facilitate crane operation.
West 141st Street between Convent Avenue and Hamilton Terrace This street will be closed Saturday and/or Sunday from 8 am to 4 pm to facilitate crane operation.
Washington Street between Spring Street and West Houston Street This street will be closed 2 am to 9 pm Saturday and 6 am to 9 pm Sunday to facilitate crane operation.
Washington Street between Horatio Street and Little West 12th Street This street will be closed Saturday and/or Sunday from 6 am to 9 pm to facilitate crane operation.
Gansevoort Street between 9th Avenue and 10th Avenue This street will be closed Saturday and/or Sunday from 6 am to 9 pm to facilitate crane operation.
Vandam Street between Hudson Street and Varick Street This street will be closed Saturday and/or Sunday from 8 am to 6 pm to facilitate crane operation.
