NEW YORK CITY FESTIVALS AND PARADES TRAFFIC ADVISORY: Friday March 21, 2014 to Sunday March 23, 2014

MANHATTAN- BROOKLYN

 

 BROOKLYN BRIDGE – INBOUND. MANHATTAN/BROOKLYN CLOSURES MEANS LIKELY CONGESTION AND INTERRUPTION THE NORMAL FLOW OF TRAFFIC IN THE AREA IN MANHATTAN AND BROOKLYN

BROOKLYN BRIDGE full closure for traffic proceeding Manhattan bound/westbound

Friday night/Saturday morning Midnight* to 7 am

Due to facilitation rehabilitation and repainting work

BROOKLYN BRIDGE full closure for traffic proceeding Manhattan bound/westbound

Monday – Thursday nights: 11 pm* to 6 am

Due to facilitation rehabilitation and repainting work

* To allow traffic to clear before the reversal begins, the eastbound BQE exit onto the bridge closes 30 minutes earlier, the northbound FDR Drive exits close up to an hour earlier, and other Brooklyn ramps onto the bridge shut down 5-15 minutes earlier.

Drivers proceeding inbound/northbound from south Brooklyn via the Belt Parkway and Gowanus Expressway should use 3rd Avenue/Hamilton Avenue into the toll facility Hugh L. Carey (formerly Brooklyn Battery) Tunnel as the best route into lower Manhattan.

Drivers proceeding inbound/westbound from Queens/Long Island should consider the Williamsburg Bridge, or the toll facilities at the Robert F Kennedy Bridge or Queens Midtown Tunnel, for best route into Manhattan.

Throughout this closure the Manhattan Bridge will accommodate 5 lanes of traffic inbound/westbound and two lanes outbound/eastbound.

WILLIAMSBURG BRIDGE CLOSURES MEANS LIKELY CONGESTION AND INTERRUPTION THE NORMAL FLOW OF TRAFFIC IN THE AREA IN MANHATTAN AND BROOKLYN

 Saturday from 6 am to 2 pm

QUEENS PLAZA SOUTH MAIN ROADWAY/SERVICE ROADWAY CLOSURES MEANS LIKELY CONGESTION AND INTERRUPTION THE NORMAL FLOW OF TRAFFIC IN THE AREA IN QUEENS

Queens Plaza South Main Roadway/Service Roadway from Crescent Street to 28th Street, One lane on each roadway will be closed

To facilitate crane operation. Note: The FDR southbound entrance to East 34th Street is not impacted.

West 33rd Street between 6th Avenue and 7th Avenue

from 10 pm on Friday to 6 am on Saturday and from 10 pm on Saturday to 6 am on Sunday

To facilitate crane operation for Macy’s Annual Flower Show.

East 37th Street between Park Avenue and Madison Avenue
