NEW YORK CITY TRAFFIC ADVISORY:  FRIDAY OCTOBER 25, 2013 TO SUNDAY OCTOBER 27, 2013

 

MANHATTAN- BROOKLYN

BROOKLYN BRIDGE – INBOUND. MANHATTAN/BROOKLYN CLOSURES MEANS LIKELY CONGESTION AND INTERRUPTION THE NORMAL FLOW OF TRAFFIC IN THE AREA IN MANHATTAN AND BROOKLYN

Where When Why
BROOKLYN BRIDGE full closure for traffic proceeding Manhattan bound/westbound Starting 12:01 am Saturday October 26 until 6 am Monday October 28 Due to facilitation rehabilitation and repainting work

Drivers proceeding inbound/northbound from south Brooklyn via the Belt Parkway and Gowanus Expressway should use 3rd Avenue/Hamilton Avenue into the toll facility Hugh L. Carey (formerly Brooklyn Battery) Tunnel as the best route into lower Manhattan.

Drivers proceeding inbound/westbound from Queens/Long Island should consider the Williamsburg Bridge, or the toll facilities at the Robert F Kennedy Bridge or Queens Midtown Tunnel, for best route into Manhattan.

Throughout this closure the Manhattan Bridge will accommodate 5 lanes of traffic inbound/westbound and two lanes outbound/eastbound.

FDR DRIVE SOUTHBOUND SERVICE ROAD. FOLLOWING STREETS CLOSURES MEANS LIKELY CONGESTION AND INTERRUPTION THE NORMAL FLOW OF TRAFFIC IN THE AREA IN MANHATTAN:

FDR Drive Southbound Service Road (FDR entrance ramp to remain open) between East 30th Street and East 34th Street 6 am Saturday to 9 pm Sunday To facilitate crane operation.

East 51st Street between Madison Avenue and Park Avenue 12:01 am Saturday to 9 pm Sunday To facilitate crane operation.
