We are about to see new cinematic version of Count Lev Tolstoy’s novel  “War and Peace” re-written by British  screenwriter Andrew Davies, who in 1995 also had written film adaptation of “Pride and Prejudice”.

At film presentation press-conference Mr. Davies revealed that he ‘sexed up’ film scenario to keep viewers interested.

-The brother and sister none-platonic relationship is something that I made much clearer, than Leo  Tolstoy…it’s subtlety referenced in the book absolutely.  Another thing is that at some point in the book it said that Boris, who you saw in episode one looks very nice and sweet in his uniform, had become the acknowledged lover of Countess Bezukhov, said Andrew Davies.

Tolstoy’s epic original 1869 work chronicles events surrounding the French invasion of Russia, as seen through the eyes of five aristocratic Russian families.

“War and  Peace”  will premiere on BBC in January 2016, with US networks Lifetime, A+E and History simulcasting it in the US.
